This has to be 1 of the best films I ever saw. The dialogue is impactful, hard hitting. The shots are sublime, it's a masterclass in pacing
Raw, haunting, and deeply emotional. Powerful performances expose a broken system in a film that stays with you.
Average true story adaptation film. Great story, acting, dialogue, simply artistically directed in some scenes makes it very gripping.
Honestly hit hard—painful but inspiring. Real faith, real struggle.
It’s got a lot going for it: tragic case, complicated defendant & two good leads, but this felt more like a book report than an exposé.
Very good movie that is both enjoyable and thought-provoking. However, "moral message" isn't thought-through and relies on emotions heavily.
Stellar acting by O'Connell and Dern. Depicts the true story of a man unjustly executed in a fatally flawed justice system.
Shocking true story of the execution of an innocent man.
4 out of 10. Laura Dern is always good but this doesn’t tackle the death penalty. It just rolls around with it
I had to watch this in two parts....the inital 15 minutes is harrowing and upset me immensely. The rest of the film is a little easier
