Avant-garde African film out of Senegal. Two young lovers dream of emigrating to Paris and away from the pastoral life. Visually arresting.

There are some really striking images but this is rather dull and messy. Plus the “Paris song” they play in this is extremely ear grating.

this made me want to quit film studies and they’ve tried to make us watch it twice 😭

Equal parts inspired by French New Wave and sometimes a literal snapshot of Senegal. Dense and beautiful.

Just a really gorgeous looking movie. I definitely to need to see it again to form a full opinion, but I liked it a lot.

Was a very beautiful movie. The plot was also good until the end. Some of the subs didn't seem to make sense.
