I think this is the best of the early Bergman. Really nails mood and story structure. Beautiful film.
Bittersweet melodrama has an ending that stuck with me. I was moved by its theme of finding joy despite pain. Full of raw emotional truth.
Classical music and a rather working relationship story are the best parts of it.
An early expiration of love, tragedy, and time tragedy from Bergman. Themes of his later movies and some incredible scenes. Worth a watch.
Perhaps Bergman’s earliest masterpiece
