Cage’s son in this film is played by Nicholas Hoult. In 2023, he stars with Cage again in Renfield as they play as Dracula and Renfield.
A darkly funny and sometimes sad movie, well-acted and well-written, great Nic Cage performance
A pretty compelling character piece but a little generic presentation and plot
Surprisingly good; I was not expecting to be so moved from a Nic Cage flick.
I think this movie was marketed wrong. It’s got somewhat of a dark humor to it but also some wholesome insight into family life.
Perfect comedy drama. Off beat but not in a contrived way- more realistic awkwardness. A good depiction of bleakness. I found it funny too.
One of the better Nic Cage movies. It's a little slow but it's well-acted.
It messed with my mind. How can such a dumb man exist and have a life. Looks like fantasy.
It’s just a strange experience. Even for a Cage film. Verbinski has always had a strange style, but he’s more unhinged here even.
Could do worse. Funny and endearing at times with a solid story. Not very memorable but worth a watch.

A phobic con artist and his protege are on the verge of pulling off a lucrative swindle when the con artist's teenage daughter arrives unexpectedly.
Yuri Orlov is a globetrotting arms dealer and, through some of the deadliest war zones, he struggles to stay one step ahead of a relentless Interpol agent, his business rivals and even some of his customers who include many of the world's most notorious dictators.
