Successful surgeon Tomas leaves Prague for an operation, meets a young photographer named Tereza, and brings her back with him. Tereza is surprised to learn that Tomas is already having an affair with the bohemian Sabina, but when the Soviet invasion occurs, all three flee to Switzerland. Sabina begins an affair, Tom continues womanizing, and Tereza, disgusted, returns to Czechoslovakia. Realizing his mistake, Tomas decides to chase after her.

Good drama romance, great story and acting with good cinematography. Worth watching

One of the sexiest movies ever made. Yes, Daniel Day-Lewis, I will take off my clothes.

I adore this film and have seen it so many times by now.

Excellent literary film with depth and great performances. I know Kundera wasn’t a fan, but it really comes close to doing his book justice.

You'll enjoy it if you've read the book because it explains everything in more detail but Daniel was perfect for the role

The book is much better, but Daniel Day-Lewis plays so beautifully, it worth it

It shows how sex is a basic need of humans and it doesn't come with morality.
