The Thing from Another World

The main thing that makes this film good is the acting and chemistry the actors have with each other so it makes up for the flaws in this.

Carpenter picked the great parts from this story and a better version, but this is still a fun 50s sci-fi with a few great shots.

I’m grateful for this film spawning the best horror film ever. It’s fun to look back on this one and see the bits they kept in the remake

Classic 1950s sci-fi/horror that is often overshadowed by John Carpenter’s retelling but is just as effective at creeping out its audience

A great example of mid century horror films. Can be cheesy but still entertaining in some very genuine ways

Loses the sense of horror with too many characters and including the “cool” and “capable” Air Force. Becomes generic in the end.

Ok monster movie. The action is pretty tame, but the Arctic setup is "chilling". Carpenter's was much better.

I suppose it was very ahead of its time, but this one just loses me honestly

It’s really boring and slow moving. Most of the movie is talking and the monster’s makeup isn’t great.
