The Square looks at the hard realities faced day-to-day by people working to build Egypt’s new democracy. Cairo’s Tahrir Square is the heart and soul of the film, which follows several young activists. Armed with values, determination, music, humor, an abundance of social media, and sheer obstinacy, they know that the thorny path to democracy only began with Hosni Mubarak’s fall. The life-and-death struggle between the people and the power of the state is still playing out.

Lots of great footage make up this doc. Helps boil down a complex issue for anyone to understand
Thought provoking drama comedy, well worth seeing
A must see for every third-world country citizen in order to understand their own frustration; the rest shall see it for understanding us.
Informative doc that sticks w you. Good balance of educating, allowing the subjects to tell their story & building empathy w/o overproducing
This semi-doc is a bit sleepy. I really enjoyed the footage, but it just meanders for too long without direction.
Fascinating look at the real hardships faced by protesters in Egypt, though could do with more explanation of the government there.
essential viewing to understand the complexities of the Egyptian communities & their fight for a new regime
Documentaries aren't my cup of tea
