With a new iPhone, an apartment near the Grove, and a comfortable bank account left to her by her beloved late husband, Marnie Minervini has happily relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles to be near her daughter Lori, a successful (but still single) screenwriter, and smother her with motherly love. But when the dozens of texts, unexpected visits, and conversations dominated by unsolicited advice force Lori to draw strict personal boundaries, Marnie finds ways to channel her eternal optimism and forceful generosity to change the lives of others - as well as her own - and find a new purpose in life.

Engaging, funny and relatable. Plus, the main protagonist gives me some vibes of my mom and her mom/my grandma.
Planning a wedding for Cecily Strong and acting like a surrogate mother to her, only to refer to her as “what’s her name” is savage… 😂
Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne were good in this movie. They seemed like real people.
Too long, too slow, weak script, unnecessarily melodramatic, even boring. Proof that a great cast isn't enough to make a movie.
Barely remembered anything about this movie other than J.K. Simmons being awesome as always.
Could have been so much better with the idea behind it and talent on offer but it falls flat.
Fun movie for some I'd imagine, but it personally made me want to fall asleep and/or tear out hair - My own or otherwise.
Get outta here. Long, slow, sappy garbage. Not remotely watchable.
It was a good Sunday afternoon movie.
Nice mother daughter story
