Slow burn, but picks up very fast. Beautifully shot. Encapsulating story. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. A work of art.
Poetic. This is a Lovercraftian poem in film form. And the themes are suprisingly mythological instead of eldritch.
Few films have obsessed me this much. Amazing how much thematic depth and jawdropping scenes fit neatly in such a tight film.
It explores man’s flaws and isolation; the light—human pursuit—is unbearable when fueled by vice, with the keeper as a flawed proxy.
technically great, but such a drab, slow burn, that brings on depression. A mental drain that’s hard to enjoy. Beautiful cinematography

The film rests squarely on the shoulders of Dafoe and Pattinson. Luckily, they’re able to carry the load with ease.
It’s Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson slowly losing their minds at each other. What are you waiting for?
A god tier movie about isolation, personal demons & the slow burn into madness. RP delivers a career performance. A very unsettling movie.
If you can only see one square format, chiaroscuro soaked black and white, psychological horror fart comedy, this is an excellent choice.
