Kind of a messy film, some dodgy acting too

Generic and artificial feeling. Not without its moments but it’s a mostly forgettable basic drama.

Predictable, but at the same time its powerful, and the performances from Loren and the kid are fantastic. Overall, I recommend it. 7/10

In terms of how well the adaptation is, it's pretty messy. Just looking at the movie by itself, it's not really enjoyable.

It's an alright adaptation to a remarkable book

Sophia Loren hasn't missed a beat. Her face is so expressive and telling; oozing sass and confidence but also warmth and vulnerability.

Wondeful story. Good acting, some scenes that could be left out and more on character development.

Beautiful and sincere. Worth watching to see Sophia Loren commanding the screen.
