A powerful story about aristocracy, power and the inevitable decay of everything. Plus one of the greatest ballroom scenes in film history.
3-hour aristocrat cope session where vibes outlive empires. Ballroom scene aged like God. I'd watch them decline again.
Poignantly describes changing of the times, acted perfectly and subtly. A must watch.
The world changed around him faster than he could. The best he could do was remain a gentleman.

Immaculate period piece. So slow and drawn out but the production design is second to none.
A feast for the eyes, great long movie to sit down and settle in for.
Couldn’t get behind this one just because they were rich and the movie was three hours. Cardinale was pretty but I’d still eat the rich.
