It didn’t age well, but it’s still beautifully shot and fun if you can get past some unsavory references.
Loved this musical. Everything a classical musical should be.
One of those stories that will bring up complex feelings.
For some reason, I was obsessed with this as a kid. I knew Yul Brinner's name as a toddler & was enamoured of the costumes. Didnt age well.

Fine dramatisation and musical that is a product of its time. I suspect the real story and characters are far more interesting.
It may not be the true story of what really happened to these people, but it's still one of my favorite musicals!
A beautiful movie. Yul Brenner is amazing in this film. Heartfelt, grand, and gorgeous to look at and listen too. Fabulous story.

Pretty ok version of the story. If you’re a fan of the animated one or more modern versions, it’s worth going back to this one
