Although it contains what is prob' for most fans the better aspect of the star's talent-his songs, this is not truly a genius story, sadly!

Neil Diamond is not a good actor. The script is terrible, there’s a blackface scene for some reason, and it’s just awful all around.

1 1/2 stars. Might have made it to 2 stars but L Olivier was laughable as orthodox Jew.

The only thing that saves this disaster is the song America because Neil Diamond is no actor that's for sure
