A film with a great message and although Quasi gets roped in with the classic monsters, this is an essential Universal Monster classic!
A classic that does a surprisingly great job capturing the complexity of it's source material
Lon Chaney as Quasimodo is incredible. One look in his eyes conjures up so many feelings. Above all: pathos
Lon Chaney is amazing as Quasimodo. However, as a whole the film is inferior to the 1939 version, but still stands up well on its own.
If you enjoy cinema recommend watching any silents with themes you enjoy already.
Definitely worth it if you are into these movies
Has some good practical effects, but it’s just too slow.
Loved this version of Quasimodo. Although sympathetic, he's still a grunt and not the sweet Disney version. Makes the movie much more tragic
Chaney wows again in both performance and makeup. More Drama than Horror
