It's a reboot of a 2004 American remake of a 2002 Japanese remake of a mediocre Japanese haunted house film made in 2000. Don't expect much.
First movie from this year, and probably will be the worst. Really don't feel like a "The Grudge" movie. Awful plot and stupid jumpscares.

More like "The Grudge Against My Time." 90 minutes of cursed boredom.
It's decent enough, but the 2004 Americanized version was better.
Not great. The coloring looked cheap, I think they were trying to emulate Japanese film style. The plot was boring and nothing new added.
Unnecessary reboot. No real scares, just recycled screams and jumps. Feels like a shadow of the original. You’ll forget it the next day.
This is horroble, it feels like those Hellraiser sequels where they grabbed an unrelated script and gave it the name of a franchise
if you remove the title no one would know it was about the grudge, couldn't even follow the plot from the original or the american remake
Terrible remake of a decent remake... Lost the "cHaRmE" of the original US remake and just won't make sense.. The jumpscars suck too...
