Great plot and pacing, if you haven't watched this its a fun departure from what most people think of as a Harvey Keitel film
One of my favourite movies. Such an oppressive atmosphere
A slow and dreamy arthouse drama with some of the tensest fight scenes commited to film.
Great period drama with a more masculine feel than most.
Very bold aesthetic and camera work, steals a bunch from Barry Lyndon, but who said this is a bad thing?
Beatuiful cinematography that captures the obsession of two men
Great artistic setpiece. Great uniforms all around although the constant duels may get dull after the first half of the movie or so.
Great launching point for Scott’s remarkable career. Carradine gives a particularly understated and engaging performance. Rousing action.
Realistic swordfights. A little slow and plodding.
Product of its time but really well done. Love that it's based on real people
