The strong messages of family, love and solidarity amongst black women is really touching 10/10 film!! The music was also phenomenal!

Really well made remake & musical with songs that hit you in the feels with a well flesh out story, the cast is stunning mainly Barrino.
I didn't know it was a musical, but it turned out to be a fun surprise! Good music, great acting, and a fun introduction to a classic book.

Its not like the original movie which is good, it does justice to the broadway play with the musical numbers and it does updatefromoriginal
A powerful film about overcoming oppression and finding your family. Rocky start, but gains steam and overflows with emotions by the end.
I actually enjoyed it more than the live version of the musical; but I think I still prefer the original film.
I liked this version so much! The original was so hard to watch, albeit important. But I was happy for a more uplifting experience.
Great performances held back by endless time jumps and shortened musical numbers.
