When German police viciously quell a protest against the shah of Iran, popular journalist Ulrike Meinhof rebels against her dishonest marriage, walks away from her children and joins radical anarchist Andreas Baader. Together with Baader's girlfriend, Gudrun Ensslin, they form the violent Red Faction Army, and together perpetrate a slew of terrorist attacks as a way of disrupting the fabric of what they see as an increasingly fascist state.

Very solid movie. Critics will say it's justifying terrorism. It doesn't. It just gives you an insight into why the RAF acted like it did.
Give some good impressions about the RAF terrorists and the background of them.
Tries to be very authentic and mostly succeeds in it. There is nearly no explanation of events and of motivations.
Historically accurate if slightly overlong movie about terrorist in Germany in the 70s/80s. Great actors.
This movie shows the time when people were still believing in something, and believed they could change the world
You have to really care about this fuck terrorists to watch it to the end. Plot is not enganging for 150 min, loses steam before the middle.
When german films used to be good. Could watch this over and over.
Engaging, powerful and well researched. An intriguing part of modern history backed by a masterful production.
Always a bit wary of biographical films about people like the BMG but this is a good watch if you're into that kinda thing
