UHF or Be Kind Rewind kinda vibe. It’s “zany” not unlikable if you’re into that sort of thing.
Def' 1 of the most irritating experiences in a movie 4 me as I found it unamusing & really self-indulgent on the part of the main actors!
Musical comedy in the vein of "The Blues Bros", even has Sam & Dave in this! Tim Robbins & John Cusack as likable losers in the music biz.
