I think the premise would hit home even harder today - living in cheap hotels so your kids get access to good schools. Lyonne is amazing.
Probably not the most high-brow movie out there, but it’s full of quirky humor. Natasha Lyonne and Marisa Tomei work great together.
Coming of age story with some good moments, and covers some unpleasant situations as well.
Excellent cast, great writing, mostly funny and a bit tragic. Pretty inappropriate age-wise but also pretty accurate portrayal of the 70s
An amazing account of growing up. One of my favorite movies.
Good coming-of-age/slice-of-life comedy about a lower-class family in ‘70s CA, great cast, Natasha Lyonne anchors the film in the lead role
Interesting coming of age story, with som funny parts and some really messed up parts
this feels like one of those movies people want to pretend they don’t just watch for the boobs, but the entire thing is creepy she’s a kid?!
Funny at times, but ultimately feels pointless
Better than expected but also very messed up and campy. It’s a decent coming of age film though. Has great moments.
