Best KMF movie, and a synthesis of all he has done before. Bold ending.
This movie could’ve been half as long as it was, and yet it still had gaps in the plot. It was still entertaining.
Let’s say it’s the best fiction of Kleber. Sometimes has too much exposition, as usual. But it’s of my culture and homeland.
Some bits undoubtedly went over my head due to lack of knowledge of Brazilian history, Still engrossed the whole time. A film with muchness.
A masterful allegory about the diachronic state of Brazil and the oppression a corrupt system imposes on people.
More of an enveloping than a viewing. But, despite being thoroughly engaging and evoking the time & place perfectly, I'm still confused.
A serious contender for the 2026 Oscars. It made me want to learn more about Brazil's history in order to better understand the film.
Really enjoyed this minus the ending, thought it was ambitious but didn't really stick it well.
A much more intelligent and persuasive exploration of repressive-state themes than the film that's going to win best Oscar this year.
