Cashier and part-time starving artist Christopher Cross is absolutely smitten with the beautiful Kitty March. Kitty plays along, but she's really only interested in Johnny, a two-bit crook. When Kitty and Johnny find out that art dealers are interested in Chris's work, they con him into letting Kitty take credit for the paintings. Cross allows it because he is in love with Kitty, but his love will only let her get away with so much.

Some great lines & directing, but just so cruel. Even for this genre
Amazing film noir. Give it a watch, it is entertaining from the beginning to the very end
Cat damn. Whatta film. Lang does it again, why did I not hear about this film earlier? Blind watch
Joan Bennett is the quintessential femme fatale. All the dark and twisting plot elements you'd expect from this era of noir.
An against-type Edward G Robinson really shines in this insanely plotted chunk of absolute, utter bleakness
Excellent example of a very good film noir. Archetypical characters, amazing plot - trust me and watch it!
Amazing movie noir. And BW technique makes it even more amazing. Those were the times when movies were golden. A must wach, deffinitely.
A decent film noir with characters you’ll hate but you’ll like them too.
Didn’t really get this one. I think he would’ve been happy about what he did and found a way to sell more paintings. Chalk it up as a win.
Even if it’s old af, this movie is very entertaining also for not old movies’ lovers. Btw this plot was so frustratingggg to watch
