Peckinpah captures the decline of chivalric honor as the West’s future is taken from explorers to given to opportunists.
One of the last great Westerns. Themes about the dying of the West as well as the end of a certain kind of manhood create a soulful mood.
Better than average Western about an honest lawman and his greedy double crossing partners.
