Loved it as a kid. I remember it having a bit more teeth than family films made today.
Good flick that goes deep into it's source material.
A movie my mom played for me and in my opinion it was amazing, extremely sad but a great story

Great story about a little boy with a powerful imagination dealing with an abusive father and the relationship with his mother and brother
A older brother doing what he could to protect his little brother
Maybe not for children, but I loved it as a child. Even whilst not understanding the mature implications until much later.
The beauty of this movie is that you can watch it as an adult and see the sad ending or watch it as a kid and see the dream come true
A sad fantasy about abuse.
