When linguistics professor Henry Higgins boasts that he can pass off Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle as a princess with only six months' training, Colonel George Pickering takes him up on the bet. Eliza moves into Higgins's home and begins her rigorous training after the professor comes to a financial agreement with her dustman father, Alfred. But the plucky young woman is not the only one undergoing a transformation.

Great acting, I had read the play years ago for a class. Good romantic comedy.
Absolutely amazing adaptation of the play. It had me howling with laughter constantly, and I would entirely recommend it.
I might’ve called this a perfect adaptation if they’d kept Shaw’s original ending. Hate this ending. Otherwise, very well done.
As a big fan of musicals and My Fair Lady, I enjoyed finally seeing Pygmalion. Great story/characters even without a big musical production.
Though weakened by the ending, it's still sharply written and supremely acted by both leads.
I honestly preferred my fair lady however this was not bad at all and I enjoyed the performances
I’ve never really cared for the lead performances in My Fair Lady despite adoring that film. I think the actors are better cast here.
Hands down best adaptation. Makes sense since Shaw was directly involved. Hiller dominates every scene she's in.
It’s a great story, the Shaw play on which ‘My Fair Lady’ was based, and it’s an excellent filmed version.
I like this better than My Fair Lady. Great performances.
