Quirky and rebellious April Burns lives with her boyfriend in a low-rent New York City apartment miles away from her emotionally distant family. But when she discovers that her mother has a fatal form of breast cancer, she invites the clan to her place for Thanksgiving. While her father struggles to drive her family into the city, April -- an inexperienced cook -- runs into kitchen trouble and must ask a neighbor for help.

A Thanksgiving holiday film!?! Watched more times than I can count. Simple, memorable and a great family film.
I loved this small film and what this young woman goes through for a good thanksgiving and relying on the kindness of strangers.
Simple and well acted family dramedy. Patricia Clarkson is great.
I find that dysfunctional families are more interesting to watch in holiday movies. This movie definitely delivers in that department.
One of very few Thanksgiving films. Turns out it isn't so bad. Holmes is decent in this movie. It's quirky and it works. Recommend.
Not my kind of movie it is boring to me
A rare Thanksgiving film. Not a classic but if you’re looking for a holiday movie this might be one to try
Good indie drama about re-encountering family at Thanksgiving. Not perfect but it works really well.
A pretty-good indie drama that I’m probably being too harsh on.
So this is what Cicero was up to before The Bear.
