Private detective and former football player Harry Moseby gets hired on to what seems a standard missing person case - a former Hollywood actress wants Moseby to find and return her daughter. Harry travels to Florida to find her, but he begins to see a connection between the runaway girl, the world of Hollywood stuntmen, and a suspicious mechanic when an unsolved murder comes to light.

A '70's revival noir P.I. film. Paranoid, psychological thriller. Unexpected ending. Hackman's performance is a gift of the craft.
Incredible build up, it'll just sneak up on you and rattle your mind.
A neo-noir that is as much about the subtext of a man and a genre out of time as it is the conspiracy he gets caught up in.
Great themes and style. Gene Hackman is awesome. Solid P.I. Story
Really well done noir movie. Hackman was truly an amazing actor.
Portrays mid-70s world of lost souls, playing at sex revolution, drugs, freedom-trying to be happy. But you can't run away from emptiness.
It’s not much of a detective story as it is a family drama. The film takes too long in the family dynamics of characters that don’t matter.
The pacing nearly sinks this movie, but the seemingly meandering plot somehow loops into a loose bow by the end
I would never be able to trust anyone ever again
Very interesting Noir film it’s very unconventional but never seems to progress at all and
