It has some good moments, but it meanders a lot in its 2 hour runtime.
This black and white Americana film is an emotional joyride, both happiness and sadness. It’ll remind people of their own families troubles.
A very moving film that explores family relations. The performances are fantastic & the cinematography is beautiful.
Hilarious. Real. Cinematic. Will Forte and Bruce Dernbat their best.
A very unusual sort of movie, with a unique plot and atypical characters, but a quiet, natural human drama nonetheless.
Heartwarming and stylistic, but not egotistical.
Really thought provoking piece, visually interesting, and Bruce Dern was incredible
I wasn't expecting this uncomplicated , character-driven movie to wow me the way it did. Top 5 of 2013 for me
A touching relation between the characters, which contrasts perfectly with comic moments.
What a film! This should be a benchmark for slow movies as to how it should be done. It is perfect in its own way and genuinely good.
Stark, and at times bleak. But very poignant and complex.
The oppressive mundanity leads to some truly excellent and funny moments when they finally arrive.
Profound and thought provoking. Deals with a lot of the important themes in life, specially late life. Bruce Dern is superb.
Had some great, thoughtful moments, but was really slow paced and I still don’t know why it was in black and white?
Great heartfelt and contemplative film.
The uncondiciable love from a son to his father, AMAZING
This was such a disappointment. Couldn't get into the story of characters. I don't use the word hate lightly, but I hated this movie.
A sort of road movie with a funny companion. Enjoyable.
While well constructed, the movie is slow and very dry. I didn’t find this father and son story enjoyable but I could see others liking it.
A beautiful examination of an old man’s life, very funny and ultimately endearing. Could not have ended better.
