A mixed genre tale that’s pretty fun but really levels up thanks to an incredible Bob Hoskins performance.
Has some fantastic performances in here, a great lead. Very slow but feels worth it in the end.
Bob Hoskins delivers an amazingly powerful and nuanced performance in Neil Jordan’s best film.
Hoskins makes the movie worthwhile. But otherwise the story is pretty slow as are most bodyguard-focused films.
A hard-boiled and gritty look at the regret, moral compromise, greed, and filth of London’s criminal underworld. The two leads are amazing.
Never got Hoskins before this role. He’s so fantastic here. Caine and Cathy Tyson are also really good. The seedy locations set the mood.
