Nice to see Neeson in a film with a real director. I was worried he would be hurt in real life during every action scene. Unremarkable noir.
Appalling writing and directing. Only worth watching if you have something else to do at the same time.
It's good for fans of classic film noir or old Marlowe films. And the cast is good, but Neesons version of Marlowe is kind of dull.
I really wanted to like it. Great setting, beautiful noir feel, solid casting and the story moved along. But ultimately didn’t pay off.
It’s hard to imagine a more cookie cutter detective noire story. It’s frantic with exposition at first, which makes the payoff disappointing
This is a good old fashioned murder mystery. Marlowe isn’t fast paced it is the slow 50’s back burn.
Although Neeson gives a good performance, the whole movie feels like it is trying too hard.
A modern noir film easily forgotten. Great cast and Liam Neeson delivers a reliably performance.
Left theater with a lots of questions. And not in a good way.
Neeson has no likeness to Marlowe; film falls woefully short of noir sensibility: screenplay more rough draft than worthy of production.
