You can definitely tell some of the directors he's worked with have influenced him. NRW vibes are strong. A great debut all over.

Meandering, slow, and boring as hell. If being “pretty to look at” is the only compliment you can say, that means it’s not a whole movie.
Does this classify as Saoirse Ronan inflicted masochism?
Gosling seems influenced stylistically by Refn. Not the most accessible movie but certainly worth more than one look.
