An eye opening film about a comedian that broke the boundaries of conformity
Dustin Hoffman is outstanding. Could have benefitted from a better script and a better director (I loathe Bob Fosse), but Hoffman saves it.
Definitely more convincing that Lenny Bruce was an interesting, tragic man than he was a good comic.
Dustin Hoffman is amazing in this role, and it is amazing to see how times have changed from when this kind of censorship was a reality.
Basic biopic. Hoffman does a great job. One time watch.
A great biopic about a fascinating individual from comedy's history. It's the "genius becomes unravelled by obsession" plot done very well
Toxic. Cinematography, script & acting superb. Feels tame today; taboo in 75. Lenny influenced Rivers & Carlin by pushing comedic lines.
One of the best biopics. U can go in knowing nothing about Bruce. Hoffman is outstanding. A depressing watch though.

New York City newspaper writer J.J.
