This dense and sprawling masterpiece summarizes the infamous police force of the 1950s well. Excellent cast with sharp writing.

A fast paced and engrossing film depicting the glamour and corruption, that must have come with being an L.A. cop in the 50s.
Phenomenal character building and cinematography.
Starts corny, a bit faux. As layers of complacency and corruption fall away, you sink into the labyrinth of conspiracy with the characters.
Hard to put into words how amazing this film is. It’s a shame it’s not as recognized and remembered as it should be.
This is the definition of film noir. Great direction, acting, and screenplay. A truly underrated gem that has been forgotten.
Dismissed when released as a boring cop show. Watched in 2021 and realised excellent performances with great plot of Hollywood corruption.
