Kubrick has such great films that this is considered bad
Good early work from Kubrick that showcases a master starting to develop his craft.
The direction was well done, but the plot was disposable, and the ending felt unearned. That being said, very watchable.
Doing a Kubrick marathon, lots of issues with the pacing for me but I can’t fault too much for the era the film is made in.
I’m not really a fan of neo-noir but I did enjoy this more than I thought I would.
Kubrick’s first “real” film and he comes out swinging with jaw dropping cinematography/direction that lift it’s somewhat predictable plot
Great writing and directing, impressive editing and convincing acting make this a (typically) wonderful watch for good ol’ Kubrick.
Some great sequences and an overall good noir. Doesn’t do anything that sets it apart from other noirs though, so pretty formulaic
Worth watching for die hard Kubrick fans.
A story combining Hitchcock's Rear Window and Kubrick's short film "Fight Day". Don't expect too much, young Kubrick is boring!
