The Vanishing

A quite slow film but besides that it is ok. Great acting by all the actors.

When you don’t have the patience or intelligence to enjoy “The Lighthouse”, this movie is there for you

True story of 3 lighthouse keepers vanishing. Writer surmised what happened, but creativity was lacking.

I was so invested in the first half. This really could have been a great movie. It just kind of lost its way. Still decent.

Was it mercury poisoning? Intriguing, as you never really know. Butler has had his share of forgettable films, but he is on top form in this

The payoff does not justify the slow progression. Everyone is doing their best but it is sadly a slog to get through.

Great tension & extremely well-acted, but the descent felt too abrupt/unbelievable.

Premise looked good, but ultimately a let down. Shame.

Doesn’t use its eerie secluded setting or concept to its full advantage and runs out of surprises and thrills before the end credits roll.

A really tense feeling all the way through, but dissatisfying. Much of the movie’s events feel disconnected.
