As a native Spanish speaker and someone who listens to cumbias, I thoroughly enjoyed this. The love story left me wanting more though.
Examines cumbia subculture in Mexico. Focus on character ending up in NYC with no English. Finding yourself after losing everything. Unique.
If you don't let go you get stuck in the past.
I think that is one of the best Mexican and Netflix movies ever, it’s realistic and make you realize the real situation in Mexico
A beautiful and sad movie about a boy who has a trouble whit a cartel and has to emigriet to NY leaving his life. A really good soundtrack.

Fascinating insight into a culture largely unknown to Eng-speaking audiences. Rest of film is affable - good performances but little else.
