Almost unbearable in its honesty. Bleak but enthralling.
Good early Safdie film. Lacks the relentless nature of their more recent films but the subjects are just as flawed and trying to succeed.
Gritty realistic look at drug addiction and homelessness. Watch the movie then read up a little on how it was made. Very interesting.
This film was almost like taking a trip back to how I used to live! And not a good trip back. This film is very realistic and relevant.
First Safdie movie I saw. Heroin movies sometimes feel slick or cool even in the grit. This is not a “cool” drug movie even being so visual
Real slice of life, just a terrible.life at that. Less crazy stuff and more depressing stuff than Good Time.

Not quite a Good Time, but this shows signs of the brilliance the brothers would demonstrate in their next two films
