Grimey and disturbing film, a bit repetitive but if fully explored it’s interesting premise.
Controversial when released. Father seeks whereabouts of daughter that becomes pornstar. Today, the subject wouldn't be shocking.
Paul Schrader sure knows how to make em light and breezy!
Trademark Schrader grit applied to an end of an era, American Pastoral tale. Excellent cast of character actors. Feels a little rushed.
George C. Scott carries this whole movie
If you’re a parent you’ll most certainly find this 🎥 to be a very difficult watch. It’s certainly a good 🎥 it’s just shocking & sickening
George C Scott is miscast (he’s almost TOO square to be believable) and the screenplay lacks the substance I expect from Paul Schrader.
One of Schrader’s finest.
It’s a dirty film but a good one
Shrader doesn't cease to amaze me.
