A group of grad students have booked passage on the fishing trawler Harbinger to study the effects of global warming on a pod of Orcas in the Bering Sea. When the ship's crew dredges up a recently thawed piece of old Soviet space wreckage, things get downright deadly. It seems that the Russians experimented with tardigrades, tiny resilient animals able to withstand the extremes of space radiation. The creatures survived, but not without mutation. Now the crew is exposed to aggressively mutating organisms. And after being locked in ice for 3 decades, the creatures aren't about to give up the warmth of human companionship.

A shallow imitation of The Thing that boasts practical effects and not much else. MacReady would set this one on fire in a heartbeat.
I wanted to like it. I love the effects studio. The story just doesn’t hold up. If you want good practical effects though…
A tense sci-fi horror in a confined space, definitely remnant of the Thing or Alien
This is the product of an off kilter The Thing remake. The practical effects are fantastic.
Typical. Nothing new. Rip offs of other movies. But Lance Henriksen gives it a " meh".
Awful quality of acting and everything else.
It is a lower budget 'the thing' if you liked the thing you will probably like this.
I only say it’s not awful because there’s a couple good creature effects. So much potential wasted. Dialogue: Clunky/Awkward it’s a grind
That PFX team hired for the Thing prequel use those effects to make a weaker movie with better VFX.
Henriksen is pretty good but nothing else is.
