This is kind of a simplified version of the original, which actually makes it easier to watch as a movie.
220 minutes pared down to 130? Hamlet riding a horse? This ain't a rodeo. See Braunaugh version at least twice.
Not the worst adaptation, but also not the best (I think Kenneth Branagh's version is by far the superior one)
This can be done over and over again one of Shakespeare’s greats
Pared down, but ultimately more accessible.
This remains my favorite Hamlet film adaptation. It's accessible to those less comfortable with Shakespeare whilst maintaining Shakespeare.
I want to see a better remake. This was honestly a bit forgettable.
Freudian and realistic take on Hamlet. I preferred this to Brannagh’s version. Shakespeare is always more effective in its intended setting.
Mel Gibson puts in a really goofy and often times uncomfortable performance.
Pretty good adaptation of a classic tragedy. Mel Gibson does a very faithful job of Hamlet and the rest of the cast really give it their all
