I remember watching this when it first came out and thinking, ‘wow this is The Notebook guy??’
Ryan Gosling saves this from being terrible. Decent story carried far by an amazing Gosling.
Starts slowly but manages to piece together a bleak portrait of interpersonal grief between the two lead characters.
It really helped me understand what certain people go through in life and it opened up my perspective and respect for others
Gosling is the movie. It is a slower, painful character study about addiction and it’s on his shoulders and he carries it to great results
Very well done movie with complicated characters in a simple narrative. Might be one of the biggest gut punches in film
Unlike other teacher related films with inspirational messages, this one takes you thru something real, flawed, and darker; worth a watch!!
Superb drama with outstanding performances from Gosling and Epps. Moving and powerful, well worth seeing
Ryan Gosling gives an awesome performance.
Ryan Goslings most overlooked performance and one of his strongest to date. a drama but a charmer.
