I remember being heartbroken by this as a child. A really touching story about a grumpy old man who unwittingly opens a place in his heart

Society needs COMPASSIONATE films like this to balance the violent B.S. Mister Tom takes in British lad as London is bombed by Germans.

It's a good film that's sadly been forgotten. Covering sensitive matters without exploiting. Watching it after many years was interesting.
