Really cute. The movie is timeless: 60 years later, gossips and small talks have still an important place in japanese culture

It’s Ozu! It’s color! It’s television! It’s farting! So much farting! It’s also hilarious and moving and maybe one of Ozu’s greatest films.

The story is excellent and laid back, a glimpse into the life of a Japanese family and the changing cultures in post-war Japan.
Wonderful slice of life stuff, featuring two adorable children, elegant cinematography, and a whole lot of fart jokes.
Lighter and gassier than most Ozu. A lot of fun, but still thoughtful.
Ozu once again steals my heart, applying a story of a typical-agreeable family caught between the digression of their values, and importance
