I think this movie could only work if Ricky Gervais was in it. He brings a down to earth realism to such an outlandish plot.
Gervais and Kinnear make this more than an average RomCom.
If you're already fan of Ricky Gervais' signature cringe humour, definitely worth it. Otherwise stay far away.
A pretty good exploration of death and the afterlife. The change the main character goes through feels somewhat disingenuous but pretty good
Really good. I still prefer the Invention of lying over this but this is definitely a solid one I will rewatch.
About the only thing of any true quality I've been happy 2 C Gervais, UK's Jack Black, do, besides the minor role he was given in Stardust!
Decent drama movie, good story and acting. Worth watching
Funny at times, slow at times and sad at times. But shows that you can avoid things for only so long and you get where you need to be.
Average comedy but with some strangely deep morals and messages and some well acted emotional scenes.
Ricky Gervais is definitely missing something here, he's fun but not as much as he can be
