Compared to the original silent film this version feels more compact. Also the framing from Ozu is just fantastic.
One of cinema greatest tragedies bursting with detail and utterly mesmeric in its new 4k restoration.
Ozu shows his ability's at his max in this very thought provoking and engaging tale.
Quietly touching and moving in its everyday details, one of Ozu’s best.
The silent version is better, but this is still enjoyable.
Drags at parts but an overall good romantic drama about family
Great work from Master Ozu.
