A true Jewish epic. One that triumphed upon its release, and deserves continued attention for its impact and relevance.
Hugely influential film in the collective psyche for its portrayal of relations in the middle east. Excellent score.
There's a decent early storyline with the refugees working to decide their own fate, but it's over too soon. Far too long & self-important.
Shitrael boomer propaganda slop. Tel aviv impressed.
Dated and long, but worthwhile for movie fans. Newman is in bland stoic hero mode, unfortunately. Recent events make this a hard watch.
Newman plays Captain tasked with bringing refuge Jews to Palestine. Sal Mineo in moving performance to prove he was prisoner in the camps.
It’s a historical epic and the subject matter is admittedly controversial. Still is immensely entertaining and very interesting.
