Great story, but I don’t understand the choice for Madonna
Barely any dialogue that’s not singing, but rather this film felt underdeveloped in its plot. Madonna was not as bad as people say.
Madonna's singing, amazing production design, exciting MV editing & Banderas powerful screen presence make Evita a truly great musical.
I do need to watch it again but it came off long and sad
Antonio Banderas crushes it. Madonna does pretty decent too. The movie as a whole is one of the better movie musicals.
Excruciatingly long. Excruciatingly boring. I grew up with Madonna, so I gave this movie a chance. I learned my lesson that day.
Madonna tries to take on role of Evita Peron. Social history of Argentina is in background. Unless you know it, film won't make much sense.
Amazing musical. Madonna is fantastic in the role.

I love the musical, but Madonna delivered a very flat performance to portray a woman who is a dynamo of emotion and ambition
