Evil Dead Rise
Horror • R • 2023 • 1 hr 36 min
Not as scary as the 2013 one, but just non-stop fun, gory action
Made me hide my eyes at more than one point
Great sequel/relaunch of the franchise despite few flaws but it a bunch of bloody gory fun with Lily Sullivan being one the main highlights.
Enough to make an avid horror fan sleep with the lights on
Thought it was ok for a scary film, made it more scary watching it at the cinema but so would recommend that.
Other than me being underwhelmed, I thought this film was fun overall. It felt stand alone with some referentials to it. 3/4 stars for me.
Unrelenting and unsettling. It’s constantly pushing it’s own boundaries. The story and characters aren’t very compelling, but the scares are
If you are fan of previous Evil Dead movies, you will really enjoy this one. If you heaven’t seen them, dint worry you will still enjoy it.
Worth a watch for horror fans. Some good callbacks to the franchise, some good jump scares and consistent terror
Not as good as the 2013 remake but super solid entry in the evil dead franchise
