It’s not one of Kurosawa’s best movies, but it’s by no means bad. And tells quite the tragic tale.
Toshiro Mifune's ability to transform into whoever he wants is evident in this, if you are used to his Samurai films. A drama with heart.
Another Kurosawa banger. Characters that feel like too-full buckets of paint, frustration spilling out, coating the ground and each other.
Such a classic, simple, timeless film. Mifune at his best imo. Most underrated Kurosawa film that lets the acting do the heavy lifting
Definitely a slow and thoughtful film. Kurosawa really finding his own style and vision. Just like all of his films its very entertaining
Such an unknown film. However it's so amazing. I love how minimalist the film seems yet is constantly engaging and thought provoking
Drunken men crying & struggling to live in the mess that was the post war Japan
Not Kurosawa's best but still work watching
When you listen to the guitar, you will realize that you are watching a masterpiece.
Nothing notably exceptional, but there's already hints at his future filmmaking style. Watch only if you're a hardcore Kurosawa fan.
