Kind of cheesy, but charming. Good, quick way to scratch the fantasy itch
Good watch if you're looking for a classic medieval fantasy tale.
Surprisingly dark fantasy film with banger 80s special effects that clearly inspired GRRM. The script is great with solid characters.
The look of this film is spot on. Sets, FX, the art is charming. The dragon, cheesy, very cool. Yet this watch was boring. A lot of nothing.
To me it feels slow paced, Peter McNicols doesn’t seem that intimidating & the look of the movie just makes it seem as old as it really is.
Suspend you disbelief as far as you can stretch it, and you won't be able to stop re-watching this
For having a weak and cheesy script, it at least partially makes it up with one of the best dragon representations on film.
Yes, the dragon is cool but everything else about the film.... dear lord that was bad
This movie is so charming, such a simple, classic story with practical effects that are truly amazing. But like yeah its corny. Whatever.
Absolute classic from the past! Sometimes lacking in story development and a bit slow at times - a good film overall!
